Neurological Occupational Therapist

Licensed Occupational Therapist to work with our team of Neurological Physical Therapists to better serve this caseload.

HARTZ Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time or part-time licensed orthopedic occupational therapist specializing in treatment of neurological rehabilitation on an outpatient basis.  As our Neurological Occupational Therapist, you will be the pioneer in establishing occupational therapy services within our practice. You will work closely with our experienced physical therapists to provide holistic care to individuals with neurological disorders, fostering independence and improving their quality of life.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients with neurological conditions, including but not limited to stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other related disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, including setting goals and objectives in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, fine and gross motor skills, cognitive abilities, and sensory processing.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families on compensatory strategies, adaptive equipment, and techniques to enhance independence and safety.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care and continuity of treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Candidate must be willing to develop relationships with local physician groups and hospitals as well as the engage the surrounding community to build relationships and support.
  • Stay current with advancements in neurological rehabilitation and participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and continuing education courses.

Required Skills

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Certification or specialized training in neurological rehabilitation preferred
  • Current State Licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Works well independently and as part of a treatment team
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative to master new skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of individuals with neurological disorders
